Membership Renewal 2017-18

Dear Club Member

During the last ten years many things have happened: A world financial crash, Leicester City won the Premiership, Brexit, President Trump. One thing has remained constant – the cost of your club book. But all good things must end sometime.

It has been a difficult time for our club. The forced eviction from Frisby and re-locating to Lakeview saw a big drop in membership. Just when we thought we were settled into the club lake and things were looking up, the Topmouth Gudgeon removal forced us to virtually close down for four months. During this time the club has been running at a loss. The committee held off increasing subscriptions, drawing on club reserves, to help bring in membership. However we have to balance the books sometime, so at the recent AGM the decision was taken to increase some of the membership rates.

The new prices are;

Seniors 17 to 65 (ladies 17 to 60) £50 per year.

Senior Citizens and Registered Disabled £30 per year.

Juniors 12 to 16 remains at £20 per year. Under 12 FOC.

We believe this is still great value for a whole years fishing at one of the county’s premier fisheries. Don’t forget your club card also gets you a discount at Melton Angling tackle shop on Mill Street in Melton.

Nobody likes price increases but I hope you will continue to support the club and I look forward to meeting many of you on the bank in the coming year.

Regards Mike Smith

PS. Please remember we have a new membership secretary this year, Gary Southgate. His address is on your club card.
